Q: When I go to download a group
I do not get as many article headers as my newsreader
reports are available, why?
A: Most newsreaders determine how
many articles are available in a group by performing
a calculating of the difference between the highest
and lowest article ID number. On DNews (the news
server software we use) this calculation is seldom
accurate. We will continue to nag the makers of
DNews until this error is corrected.

Q: Some newsgroups seems
to be expiring very quickly, why?
A: The rate of article expiration will vary by
group and will depend on the amount and size of new articles coming
in. This is especially true for alt binary newsgroups. We do not
set limits on retention time, the only limitation is the amount
of disk space available.

Q: Do I have to use a newsreader
to access your newsgroups?
A: No, we have a Web-To-News gateway (web newsgroups)
both for PC users and WebTV users. All that is required is a web
browser. Visit the Members
section for more information on accessing the web newsgroups.
If you're interested in other services offering
non-web-based usenet newsgroup access, this website come highly

Q: Does your service support all newsreader
software (Forte Agent, WinVN, NewsReactor, Newsbin, etc.)?
A: Definitely yes! You can use any newsreader you
want as our service supports them all. And it's easy to configure
the newsreader - just enter the login, password and server name
into the settings (ensure port 119 is the default) and connect.
Your newsreader should download list of newsgroup forums automatically.

Q: Some articles that I post do not seem to
propagate to other news servers, why?
A: Another news server may be canceling them .
We can take no further responsibility for articles not propagating
once they have been sent through the newsservers. Another reason
could be, if you have a record of abuse on the servers, your posting
access may have been disabled. Once your posting access has been
disabled due to posting abuse it will never be restored.. Nor will
we issue refunds for this reason.

Q: Is there a download limit?
A: Yes. You are currently limited to a total daily
download of 2 Gbyte/day. Unless you are just reading/posting 24
hours a day, you should never be subject to this restriction. There
are no extra charges for reaching limit either; the access will
stop until the limit resets the next day; at which point you can
start participating in the discussion forums again.

Q: I need to change the credit card
I am using with your service. What do I need to do?

request. Note: do not send credit card numbers to us via
email -- we will provide a secure way to update/change credit card
information.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: I am getting a "502
Authentication Error."
What does this mean?
A: A "502 Authentication Error" means
that you may have typed your username and/or password incorrectly
-- make sure you have hand-typed-in the username and password as
copying/pasting with spaces can cause login errors..
Another possible cause is an expired login(username) due to inaccurate
or outdated credit card information that we have on record for you.
User names and passwords are case sensitive too!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: What is the POP3 and/or SMTP
address?
A: We do not provide SMTP or POP3 access with the
usenet services; you can get that information from your ISP. The
NNTP server field is the one you should be concerned with; and is
where you can put in the name of the servers we have provided. To
configure newsreader software, it's not necessary to enter values
for POP and SMTP (they're only used if you're planning on sending
"email" through your newsreader software).
